"Should we get some food. Like idk brunch." Howard said.
Immediately after he didn't know why he said it. People in the Coops despised brunch always liked to cook for each other. Didn't like food waste.
"Yeah, sure. But I don't really have that much money. Waiting for the next semester's check."
"We could go to McDonalds? Thats always cheap." Howard said. He thought for a second about the parrot. Then again if he would be expected to pay. Does she remember what happened?
Ashleigh didn't say anything, but she also dreamt of a parrot. In her dream she was free. A wild parrot in the amazon. There were flocks of parrots everywhere, and she just went tree to tree.
She didn't tell this to Howard of course. She didn't really know what to say to him, just that she liked being around him. It put her at ease. All night she could have been upset about he family or a friend before thanksgiving break. But instead she had forgotten about all that. She felt like it was like drinking a hot tea or coffee. After you just want more.
"We could make some of your food maybe too?" She said and pointed to his collection of soups and mac and cheese.
"Sort of like a brunch, but the chef is a broke college guy who lives in the dorms."
"Very funny. uh, yeah I mean I guess I can make something. and what you make something?"
"Deal. But remember I too am a broke college student."
