The second pour over was so good that he decided to order a third. That was his decision. He would do what he wanted. The only thing that stopped him was an outside force. A man in a suit gently tapping his shoulder. The man in the suit was not an overly muscular man, but he was big. Much larger than him. There was no way he could resist any sort of physical force. The suit man wasn't yet threatening such. Just a gentle tap. His mouth said nothing. There was another man who was standing behind him who was just as tall but not as wide who spoke.
"I think you've had enough for today."
This slimmer man wore sunglasses, which felt out of place and suspicious in this cafe. The two of them actually stuck out like a sore thumb. Had they even ordered a drink he wondered. He couldn't imagine them drinking a smoothie or a coffee or a tea. Not the kind of coffee they served here at least. They seemed like the kind of men who drank coffee from those employee lounges where you poured from a big pitcher.
He thought about responding back. Something about how if he wanted a third pour over he could damn well have it. But then he stopped. It actually did make sense to stop drinking coffee for the day.
"okay." he said limply.
"We think it would be a good idea. If you came with us."
"Where is that?"
"West."
That was vague. Where the hell was west? that could mean anything. But he couldn't fight back. The hand that had gently tapped him shoulder was now gripping his arm.
