The past four weeks she had gone out every weekend. Some weeks she had even gone out on a Wednesday. It was wearing her down. She'd wake up tired the next morning. Not necessarily late at first. She'd be surprised at how early in fact. Only to feel the slump come noon. Then she'd either have to take a nap or power through with a coffee with any social engagements she had previously agreed to.
These slumps were when she'd vow not to go out that coming weekend. She would stay in and be cozy. Drink caffeeine free tea and watch old movies. Maybe read a book. This felt so nice. But then the weekend would arrive. Texts would flood her phone. Someone would call her. There would be plans she'd see on Facebook. The sun would go down. She'd have an urge for a drink. Maybe she would just have one or two with friends and then return home. But she'd always end up staying out late. And then the cycle would repeat.
Now she was beginning not to wake up early like she used to. She would just sleep in. It would mean she was less tired in the afternoon though.
