He had to stop now at a gas station. This was point where the drive back from Ann Arbor, met up with how he took from home. He always stopped here, whatever way he was coming.
He still brought his phone in the gas station, a memory of it or something. Like it would help him. While it was just dead. A thing of metal weighing his pocket down. He had to produce at the cash register some money, or his actual plastic card.
The attendant swiped it.
"Just 10 on 12?"
"Yep."
He wished to put more, but he wasn't sure how much he had. The semester had just started so he still didn't have his loan check. He couldn't even check on his phone.
He knew it was at least 25.
The payment went through, he knew it was at least 10.
Back in his car he had about 25 minutes left, it wasn't a long time but it wasn't a little. He normally would queue songs up, he had a few he'd always play. The postal service death cab, but now he went to the radio. Moving through stations. Finally he landed on the student one.
It was metal Monday, so he just listened to that.
