Pete had began wagering more and more. In the beginning he only wagered 50 cents. Not because he wanted to win money but because he wanted to be a part of the fun. So he put a token amount on the line. Those token amounts became real but small amounts. The cost of a beer at a bar. Then he started wagering a full night at the bar. Sometimes he would win. But most often he'd lose most of the wager. He had never lost the full wager to this day, although he wasn't proud of losing partial amounts since when he'd lose a partial amount it'd be near 70 or 80 percent.
By this days he had began wagering about 25-50 dollars per streamer. This midwestern guy who talked about real things though was starting to tickle him inside. He began wanting to go big on him. Not just a couple hundred or a couple thousand but maybe even like 15 or 20 grand. That could set him and Jane up for a vacation. They had enough to retire on a fixed income but they couldn't afford the nice things in life like a trip to someplace warm and beachy. But if he were to put low five figures on this midwestern guy and this guy became big... well then they could go someplace nice for awhile.
