Get Home

Jack was walking now. He had cooled down in the restaurant, he wasn't sweating anymore. But he became painfully aware of how long it had been without showering. He just wanted to get home, if he imagined how long it was he was probably half way. That put him at another 3-4 hours so not horrible. He wondered if he should hitchhike. Now he was sort of on some sidewalk away from road. This was fine he thought. He moved back into a similar stride he had before. Really going at it. He thought about running but he really didn't like running. He'd never really liked running, he liked the gym, but cardio he wasn't a fan. He barely lifted legs, look how good that turned out for him now he thought.

There wasn't a cloud in the sky nor a car on the road, as he moved away from the diner, it was almost like a sun was setting. And it with all the light and heat that normally radiated every which way from it.

He sighed, and just kept putting one foot in front of the other. There was no other way he was going to get home.
