The square was empty aside from a smoothie place, a Starbucks and a McDonald’s. There were some college kids milling about. Or were they younger he didn’t know. They all had nice phones different than how he grew up and they had headphones on sort of looked like celebrities it was weird.
“Yo big man, what you looking at.”
He kept walking, he picked out of the three places Starbucks. When he was younger he had gone to one, it was probably the first time he’d had an espresso.
He thought that’s what he’d get, double espresso over ice. He had his phone so he could pay as long as there was the tap thing.
“Welcome to Starbucks would you like to try our new mocha frappe?”
He was too stunned to speak. He’d heard that voice before.
