Cashier

as reply to Pete remembers her name

The square was definitely less crowded. The cold weather and the clouds didn’t make it as inviting. Even for Pete he sort of wanted to stay home today.

Maybe she worked Mondays and Wednesdays or something. Or maybe she worked afternoons. He’d figure it out, he didn’t really have anything else to do.

He walked around in front of the other shops. A campus store that sold books then a sort of food place. He’d never gone but he knew it was popular with the kids. It was closed now catering only to the late night people. Weirdly he’d never even ordered it.

He’d go to Starbucks now he thought. He wished he could just see from the outside. But the windows were dark and there were people.

He went though the door. Much less people. Wednesday must not have early classes or only early classes. This meant it was his turn sooner than he planned. The pace of everything was off he thought.

But there she was. Making drinks. She wasn’t thee one taking orders today so he didn’t know what to do.

“What can I get started for you?” A different girl said and he looked back to the cashier.
