She had noticed him. She had noticed him the first time too. He always had a sort of dopey look about him. Like a baby deer or something. And even with age and weight that hadn’t changed.
She was surprised to see him. It was the first person she’d seen from
Spacecity
.. She had tried to contact Keith but to no avail. He was likely still up there. She didn’t know.
Her and Keith had had their own language up there. So she still writes notes in it. Leaves them around. Sort of like bread crumbs she hopes they lead back to her.
This was unexpected, and mostly she just wanted to ask him if he knew where Keith was. Would be quick and easy like that.
Was he okay? She’d say, when was the last time you saw him?
She for awhile thought Keith was watching her. Even would leave notes in front of the cameras. Not obviously but if you were looking maybe you could see.
But she never got a response. She could have assumed Keith had forgotten about her, but she knew he didn’t. She could have also thought she was missing the notes back. And for awhile this drove her crazy. But one day she just knew. She knew he wasn’t watching.
