The following day he went closer to 10. That would give him just 20 minutes to try and see her. By this time he could remember her name again. It had come to him while he said his wife's name into the microphone. "Did you just see that, Mary...." 

His throat stopped. She kept asking him what he was mentioning "See what, Pete?"

At that moment he suddenly remembered Keith's voice, could hear it saying the name "Mariana"

Pete told his wife nevermind and then she just grumbled and carried on with her knitting. Pete muted his mic, opened another diet coke and began saying the name over and over again. Mariana. Mariana.

That was her name. That night he went to be early. Not that he would struggle to wake up, but he wanted to make it feel like the following day was arriving faster. What better way to do that but then to fall asleep? Unfortunately he couldn't fall asleep. Laying in bed he couldn't stop saying silently into the air "Mariana". Once in awhile Keith's voice would return in his head. The two of them weren't technically together (Keith and Mariana) but everybody in

assumed that they were. It didnt even need to be an official thing. It was obvious like watching a scene in a movie where the guy and the girl were in love with each other even though they weren't in a relationship.

Pete was inspired by that up there. He hadn/t seen love like that ever since. Not even with his wife Mary Beth. His marriage now with her was distant but there had been a time when the two of them did love each other more intimately. But not to the level he remembered Keith and Mariana had.

He barely got any sleep. He did wake up when the clock read 8 so he must've been asleep for some amount of time. But his recollection of the night was mostly being awake in bed thinking about the past. At 8 he got up to make himself his own cup of coffee. A cappuccino. The drink he would buy at Starbucks' would be just for show. The real caffeine drink Pete wanted was his own.

It was a chilly morning. The sweatshirt wasn't enough on its own. And Pete also felt self conscious about other people who may remember him from the day before saying that he was wearing the same sweat shirt.

He even thought of turning back and changing. However he decided against it because he thought maybe if he went back he would just end up staying at the house. Also Mariana hadn't seen him yesterday so she wouldn't know that he wore the same 

college
