Stuck out on the Pacific Coast

as reply to Final Push

The day he arrived at the Pacific Coast it was cold and gray. It was funny because back when he was at home with Mary Beth, he had considered anybody living within any of the coastal states as someone who was on the coast. But as he drove nearer and nearer he didn't think he was at the coast until he was standing right in front of the water.

There weren't many people there with him as he stood out into the horizon. He didn't know what he would do next. The only thing he did know was that he would be finding a place to stay with a comfortable bed. Probably would be staying there for a few nights to recover from sitting on his ass in the car taking all that ibuprofen for the past few weeks.

He would be taking it easy. It was just what he needed after that trip across the country.

But besides for taking it easy he didn't know what he would do next. Like there was no way he could just stay out here for the rest of his life. Would he go back to Mary Beth? For some reason that felt impossible too. His life was filled with impossible options. Nothing felt like a plausible next step.
