Warm as toast

as reply to Blankets don't emit heat

I can relate so much to this idea of snuggling down with a cold blanket, knowing that it won't be long until the warmth comes along.

For years my wife has suggested we get an electric blanket. I can't think of anything worse than having a blanket that emits its own heat. I love the feeling of sliding between crisp cold sheets and warming from the inside out. Getting into an already heated bed just doesn't feel natural.

The compromise with my wife is that I will go to bed before her, heat her side of the bed, and then slide over to warm my side of the bed when she arrives. It is a win-win for both of us.

With the winter months approaching, the heavier duck down doona will be placed on the bed. The Tog rating for a doona is an expression of the relative warmth of a quilt to its weight, and with a Tog rating of thirteen, our doona is one of the warmest ones you can get.

No one needs a blanket that can emit its own heat. You just need the right blanket or doona at the right time to stay as warm as toast.
I am also against heated blankets! What about heated car seats? I actually hate them. It makes me always feel like I have to go to the bathroom or something.

For some reason when I wrote the post about blankets I was ready  for

to come in and talk about some special heated blanket or colded blanket lol
