Truth always comes out

Everyone lies right? Yes. I do, you do and you know what, It's almost inevitable not to lie because we're just humans. Well, that's the short answer. Let's try to get a bit more specific, shall we? But first of all, what is a lie? A lie is an intentionally false statement. When a person tells a lie, he conceals the truth and instead communicates a fabulation that is not matched by facts or by genuine beliefs and intentions. It is a state of affairs where the truth is deliberately dissimulated.

Why would anyone in his right mind do such a thing? For countless reasons,  but in most situations is due to fear or pride. These are complex emotions we may not even be fully aware of. Therefore, sometimes we lie, without even realizing it. But let's not focus on these lies told unconsciously. Today, I want to reveal what happens when one is deliberately lying; - concealing the truth of a situation for a longer period. That's I think one of the worst types of lies, and I've been guilty of it many times.

The truth will resurface eventually and here's why I think that happens. When I tell a lie, I must simulate in my mind a parallel reality where the lie makes sense and keep this reality updated regularly such that it remains plausible within the actual (real) state of affairs. It's never simple to keep a lie around for too long, it's very tiring too and sometimes can drive people insane. Reality is iterative, a mind that hols lies will arrive in situations where the truth behind the lie, will want to resurface. A conscious mind naturally converges towards finding what is real, what is true. So, the mere fact of knowing that something is not true will yield situations where you are forced to admit to yourself and accept the reality.

So why do we think we can get away with lies anyway? The way we think reality works - this thing you wake up in the morning when you open your eyes. The understanding of "this reality" is based on false assumptions. If you think that whatever happens in your life, is something out there, and less inside here - in your mind then you're more inclined to lie to 'fix' an external situation. But then, that brings only more headaches. When you keep it straight in your head, then things tend to flow more harmoniously outside too. Have you noticed?

While reading this I couldn't help but think of the movie. To me truth eventually coming out -- to you the subject/agent of your life -- is what that movie's about.
