Until early last year, I was spending money each month to go to a WeWork in DC. Even though the amount of payment was large, every time I went to the place, I got a lot done.
I have a hard time being productive at home. I always prefer to be at a cafe or a library to get a lot of work done. When I get home, I get to unwind and relax. I can't get myself to have the same energy once I am home.
I used to wonder about why that was the case. Why is it that cafe's and places like WeWork get me to be focused? One interesting thing is that I am not alone. There are people around me who seem to be doing their own thing. Especially at WeWork... everyone there was chasing a dream. Everyone there was hustling and the energy was contagious. I did speak to a few people who were working on their startup and I loved seeing others work hard at their business. It was the best motivator to do the same.
Lately, I have been working at what gives me energy and what takes it away. Music, good health, family and friends, planning and having an idea to work on - are all on the energy boosting list. Ever since I got an email from WeWork asking that I renew my monthly membership, I have realized that I miss the WeWork productivity. Especially now that things are getting back to normal, going to WeWork to get stuff done may not be a bad idea.
It's all about discovering what works to increase my energy.

Hope it still strikes you with awe....
and maybe even better now... hope it delivers you with clarity and purpose as well.
