Today I made a cold brew, well more I made it all night. Slowly steeped in my fridge next to some old cheese, and leftovers. I normally buy coffee from a shop down the street, but they recently all had positive covid tests. Atleast thats what we think, though they never said. They just said they are closing for two weeks. Its the perfect excuse to kick this habit though, the 4 pounds a day adds up. I think over lockdown it was nice to buy things a change of pace, and also a change of scenery, experience, but now its just nice to see the same people, and to have a habit. I am trying to enjoy making something yourself, even if it doesn't taste the same. The first time you do something its hard, or in my case kind of tastes like the fridge, but then hopefully its gets better. Maybe its exponential or maybe linear but either way its gets better, or more to my taste. I think I will first try different water, take all the ions out, and then maybe coffee, is single origin really better? But maybe first I should try a different cheese.
Yesterday she made cold brew using it! I'm sipping it this morning. Delicious.
