My Twitter feed consisted mostly of what people would consider "money twitter". Tim Ferriss and Joe Rogan type of content. Libertarian, respectful of classical education while simultaneously prowling for new hacks, and bullish on individualism type of influencers and content.

Anyways, a trope on my feed was this idea that...
Cold Brew
Long ago I bought some
matcha
, very expensive kind, because someone on
Joe Rogan
did a good job selling it. Trisha thought I was an idiot for buying it.

Yesterday she made cold brew using it! I'm sipping it this morning. Delicious.

I'm excited about the aliens
I just thought about a conversation between
Joe Rogan
and
Neil deGrasse Tyson
where they were talking about aliens coming to earth with superior technology... and Joe asked Neil if there was ever an instance where a colonizer coming with superior technology left the indegineous population better off after their arrival.

The answer was no.

The funny thing here was when listening to that I had thought immediately that aliens would then treat us the same.

But now I've been thinking.... what if a pre-requisite to having such technology to be able to roam around the cosmos like aliens would requires a transformation -- not only technical -- but spiritual and societal. As in the only way to have such techonlogy is to transcend beyond negative sum thinking and bigotry.

Thus any aliens who come here with such technology would have to be peaceful and benevolent. Just a thought.

Why I write.
That's a great article

Keni I think knowing why we do something keeps opportunities possible. Wanting to be good at something or known for something just isn't enough of a reason. You'll quit along the way.

I was thinking about this while listening to the new
Joe Rogan
with
Dave Chappelle
where Dave says how cool it is that all of the things Joe does today primarily are things he got into with no visible outcome initially. Joe had no intentions of being known as a
UFC
commentator or being known for
podcasts
. He just knew he wanted to do it and he had his why.

For much of my writing life I've wanted to be recognized and that drove my habit and that's probably why I've struggled to keep the habit.
