Survival is a bad driver

When you're born without a silver spoon in a developing nation, your default mode is to survive. Or maybe not. But most ambitious folks can be caught in the "hustle" web, because of highly legitimate needs.

I call it survival mode because the needs to fill are legitimate; an ageing parent, need to get another apartment that's not so ghetto, food for next month, a couple of clothes for yourself and etc. The legitimate needs distinguish these pursuits from hustle porn. For the hustle porn guys in a developed country, they have a social structure to fall back on. Over here there's nothing like that, so you are actually trying to survive.

Symptoms like the below, start popping out when you're constantly in "Survival mode"

1) You're constantly looking for what's making money you hardly sit on one to become a master at it. It's React that's making money now. Two months later, oh it's Python.

2) You're constantly impatient. So you never really build anything, quick to give up on ideas. You never let ideas / projects have room to grow to or blossom.

3) If the reward is not outsized, the opportunity is not worth it, thereby missing out on relationships and several joys of life.

This state of mind or lifestyle is easy to fall into. But I hate it, when I see my friends show signs of it, I step back so they don't infect me.

Money or not. I want to enjoy life. I want to love love.

I know you may be concerned about me like "I'm not sure enjoying life or love is possible without money".

You see, you're one of them. LOL

Good one Seun.
I hear you.... but loving love and enjoying life is much harder in a survival mode - but it is feasible. I have met one or two individuals like that.... that are deliberately optimistic and work on it regularly. Regardless of being in a developing country or not, having the attitude of enjoying life is a good one to foster.
