Early Bumps

The MVP of my first product as a PM is ready.

It’s a Shopify App. A tool targeted at Shopify merchants.

We submitted our Shopify Application on Monday.

Since then we’ve had three rejections.

Each time we’ve fixed the issue and resubmitted.

The first rejection was quick, we had some inconsistency in the name of our app in of the several Shopify Forms.

The second rejection was baffling, as what Shopify seems to be complaining about we already have it implemented. Plus the reviewer sent in a 7 second video with no sound. That wasn’t helpful.

By the third rejection we an idea of what they were complaining about. We got it fixed this evening and sent in the app again for review.

I’m eagerly waiting for the response. Our app is well built, it’s just about doing things the way Shopify wants it done.

We move.
Are these items you could have known beforehand? It sounds like #1 was a rookie move, but the other two may not have been known until after the submission. How do you capture the information so that the company builds its knowledge of Shopify-specific rules?

To be honest all their requirements are documented, but of course, the docs are massive. Lots of pages.
