One winter afternoon he got on the wrong bus on the way home from the field trip downtown. At first he thought he was in big trouble, but the teachers didn't notice. And to his surprise he enjoyed talking with the kid in front of him who had his head turnt backwards the entire time.
Normally he thought this kid was annoying. He remembered only hearing people make fun of him. He looked kind of goofy so it made sense. But on that bus ride back he thought he was really cool. When they stopped by a
McDonalds
on the way back the goofy looking kid had ordered a
coffee
. A lot of the other kids made a big fuss about it. After all they were all only twelve years old. What twelve year old drank coffee?
While laughing along with the other kids at the goof drinking coffee, he got a peak at the new girl. She had moved in from fresh out of town. She was sitting with one other girl that he kind of talked to. He wanted to go say hi, but was having too much fun listening to the goofy kid.
Ten years later he would listen to an
Ed Sheeran
song that reminded him of this bus ride home.
