When you're little you can call somebody you've known a year your best friend, but once you're at there's some criteria before you can call someone a . Ask anyone and they would tell you that their best friend is someone from back home. But thing I noticed was that most people who said this had somebody they were closer to actually for the given time. Why wouldn't they call that person a best friend then?
I don't know, because I didn't do that either. By this time I hadn't known for more than a year and a half, but he was the person I was closest with. The person who was supposedly my best friend I didn't talk to much these days. Too far away, not enough similarities anymore. Funny thing with Jameson is that he brought his high school best friend with him over to college.
Well he didn't go to the same school as us, but he lived here with us in the same house. Rather than the university he went to a community college nearby. I honestly didn't even know why he went there seeing as he didn't care about school. But then again, seeing as I didn't care about school either I guess we weren't too different.
Just young, and following scripts. Going to school, but then also following a second script. The script where we played it off like we didn't care about school too much because we knew better. What was our ace in the hole? Did we have one? Nah, but we could act like we did. And since we didn't talk to anybody outside our own bubbles, none of us had any incentive to challenge either of our own delusions.
