The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse by Charles Mackesy
Trying to foreshadow every detail of the path ahead of you is a dizzying, paralyzing, and impossible proposition.
In the same way that a climber ascending a new mountain can’t possibly anticipate every challenge on the way up, there will be many obstacles (a.k.a. learning opportunities) ahead of you that you will only come to recognize when you’re faced with them.
If you can’t clearly see a way through, it’s okay. Sometimes it won’t be obvious.
Instead, resolve to take the step you can see in front of you with your full attention, intention, and effort.
Do this enough times and you will eventually find a way through.
anything else wouldn't be called a step at all.
more obvious in the physical realm -- like literally taking a step or climbing a mountain -- but less obvious when it comes to life... because we can think we are taking steps -- convince ourselves -- when we aren't.
