Dark mode

The dark mode seems to be all the rage lately. My iPhone does it, my browser does it, and many apps have it. They can be dramatic, stylish, and elegant and can leave an impression on the user if done well.

Developers are rushing to offer dark versions of their apps, and people get excited when an app offers a dark mode, which defaults to light text on a black background. Tech companies argue that dark mode will improve your time on a screen.

However, black backgrounds with white font can be tough to read, and it causes visual distortion for many people. Looking at dark mode for long periods can cause severe eye strain, so modern society uses white backgrounds with black or grey font for almost everything.

While many people feel more comfortable using dark mode in dimly lit conditions, it's not always advisable. While dark themes may be better suited for the night, they aren't necessarily helping you read better or saving your eyes from digital strain.

Everyone's experience with the dark mode is different. You may want to avoid dark mode altogether if you start noticing eyesight issues or increased sensitivity to light.
I've noticed this too, so weird, I feel like I looked down one day and my whole phone was dark.

It takes some getting used to, but once you do, you'll actually enjoy it more. For me the eye stain is greater on light mode themes. I think it makes sense because there's more light coming into the retina. Good UI design should use white as a highlight color for text (eg. A link in a block of text) and gravy for text color. Also backgrounds shouldn't be completely black. A deep gray would work better.

Most importantly, a screen showing a dark-theme-interface will consume less electricity.

I kind of like the in between blueish color you choose. There are some contrast Issues here and there and other small aesthetic, UX, and functional quirks here and there but otherwise is good 👍
