Snow Drive snow Death Cab for Cutie DUI

I was already too drunk. And the roads were treacherous.

Dane was probably too drunk as well, but when he offered to drive I said, okay let's go.

Sarah Winslett was having a party and it was about ten minutes away in normal conditions. With this
snow
and the fact that we were drunk it might take us 20 minutes. Who knew. I'd never made this drive in this weather. In fact I'd never driven in such snow before.

We had music on. Dane made sure to have me pick a song I wanted to listen to. Which made me feel somewhat comfortable. He wouldn't be so assertive that we have the right song on if he knew we were going to die would he now? Or perhaps when you're going out on your last ride was exactly the time you wanted to have your song.

I ended up picking
Death Cab for Cutie
... the song "This is the New Year". Dane gave me a head nod, in some sort of agreement.

The snow fell in such a way that we could see less with the headlights on. Dane would turn the lights off when there was no car around. The wipers worked at full speed. Right when a car appeared on the horizon Dane would flick the light back on. Partly so they could see us but mostly because we didn't want to get pulled over by the cops and get caught for
DUI
.

I grazed my fingers across the seatbelt thinking, I'm more afraid to get caught by the cops then getting into a crash and dying.
