When we were all on 200WAD, aeons ago, Abe was the undisputed champion of streak breakers. I'm sure therealbrandonwilson and keni would bear me witness. He was consistent and impressive at breaking his streak. To be fair on him, sometimes he wrote multiple articles per day, but he still never held a long streak nevertheless.
But since Sir Abe built Adagia, man's been writing every day and now holds a record 40-day streak. F O R T Y.
Btw I think it's hilarious that AWS' CEO makes less in salary then this guy did. Yeah I know let's ignore stock options. I just wanted to point that out for lols.
Anyways, I'm pretty sure that I did actually have a higher than 40 day streak back at 200WAD lol. It's once 200WAD rebranded and I left the site where I learned to write everyday relentlessly. Just me and RoamResearch. Now I have different tribes on here and different projects so it's easy for me to write everyday. If I don't feel like writing about more 200WAD-esque stuff (business/philosophy/etc) then i can just write a snippet of fiction.
Lol btw what's your intrinsic motivation for the main thing you are doing right now. In fact, what is the main thing you are doing right now?

My intrinsic motivation is time flexibility. I want to have my time in my hands. And that right now means to be a start-up founder. We've discussed this before on telegram

This is a great article. I completely understand why he left Amazon. I do remember Sir Abe was a member of #Teamstreak at one point, but he did not last very long. I don't think a "streak breaker" needs a champion or even much fanfare. What's so special about it?

Speaking of rich, I was watching a couple of guys talk about what it's like being rich ( they are ) and one has piece -- the other doesn't. But, they both get more excited by the creative ways they make $20 than the $100K /month income they have.

@seun if an intiative as strong as YC but for entertainment existed then yeah I would love to try to be a part of it. I don't think it does though. And I don't think YC would make a good fit for the entertainment domain. They'd get more fixated on building products around that space instead lol.
@brian that's an apt observation. Having a reason to streak. At 200WAD I felt like a guest so i didn't feel the need to streak. But here I feel like I'm the host so I feel like I need to do some extra chores around here. Like washing the dishes, cleaning hte bathroom, keeping a streak. Also it's fun to just be ahead of Brandon because he had mentioned that one day I'd fall off the wagon lol.
But I promise you this. If i ever do break my streak on here in the future it won't be because I fell off the wagon. It'll be because I got sick of being ontop of the leaderboard. A way to prevent this though is to invent more leaderboards than just the streak.
the counter started before the streak was implemented? Lol both Jason and I implement a retrospective counter so it's just based on your history. I said this in the Telegram but I should've bolded it lol
abrahamKim All I know is when I first posted on 12/6, I didn't see anything on the site that was tracking a streak. jasonleow and Arcticloon Both showed a streak of 1 on day 1.
lol how about this. When Arcticloon implements an api i'll honor the posts you wrote on his thing so that you can have your streak be even longer than mine.
