Some no-name/non-name tests positive for COVID

This morning during my perusal of headlines in my SmartNews app, I saw this one: "Stephen Colbert tests positive for COVID." Let me ask the obvious question. Why is this a headline???

If someone in your inner circle tests positive for Everyone's Favorite Virus™️, that matters to you. Other than that, who cares if anyone else has it? Remember when Trump got it and the media writ large went absolutely apeshit? My favorite part of that story was when he returned to the White House and defiantly ripped his face mask off like a guy who's had a vasectomy and thinks he has bulletproof immunity ripping off the condom with a hooker.

What are the other scenarios in which the health status of public figures is deemed headline-worthy? Someone got HIV/AIDS? That's so 80's.

Aside - I remember following two coworkers to a bar after work. They wouldn't tell me where we were going, and I discovered why when we arrived. They took me to a gay bar. I wasn't exactly thrilled with the idea, but I went along anyway. While I was standing nervously in one corner, I joked with one co-worker, "Hey, I went to the bathroom and couldn't find any glory holes." His response was "oh, that's so 70's"

Enough of the irrelevant headlines. Enough of the fear-mongering. Enough of some new variant. I just want my taste and smell back.
Click bait or just poorly done journalism ? I guess a combo of the two. As for Mr. Trump, well he's one of a kind, a sort of weird earthling

Wait so you really don't have taste/smell still?

Also is it complete absence or just a reduction?

It's reduced. Maybe 30-40% of what it should be. It's just duller. Like a hint of what it should taste like instead of the full monty.
