"PT!" Zach shouted in glee as PT arrived in the lobby sipping the
apple juice
. He still didn't think of it as his apple juice, but rather that lady's who was staying upstairs.

"Hey aren't you forgetting something?" Zach asked.

PT made a face to signal that he didn't know what Zach was talking about.

"Did you get enough for everyone?" Zach pointed at the
juicebox
in PT's hand. "Juice! Man I could go for some juice right now."

"There's that new
cafe
that sells juice and smoothies," Larry said while holding his hips.

Somehow they ended up at the cafe. There was some back and forth about whether Zach had time or if Larry was in a condition to go. And apparently both of them had the capacity.

"Yeah. I can just finish this work tonight." and "Oh my hip does hurt a lot. But a healthy veggie juice would help me heal just the faster!"

Not once did PT make any remark about his plans. Whether he could go get juice. It was all assumed that he would be fair game for it.

"Alright let's go!"

By the time they were driving the Tesla over to the cafe, PT was still drinking what was left out of his juicebox. He thought it was pointless drinking that toxic trash now that they were actually going to get some real juice. He texted Jasmine that he wouldn't be at the hospital.

<Could you just pick me up later at my place?>

<Sure!>

This relieved him. He didn't know how she would respond. His fear was that she'd just cancel on him and blame him for being inconsiderate. But the exclamation mark at the end of her "Sure" message made him think that everything was alright. He could actually go enjoy this juice now.

The three of them exiting the Tesla and walking into the cafe must've been a funny sight, PT thought. A 70 year old geezer, a biracial gay man, and him. The token white guy. These three people probably didn't hang out anywhere else in the world. This was a moment in the making he though.

The cafe's interior surprised him. The outside was unimpressive but the inside reminded him of some of his favorite cafes from his college days. He could imagine himself reading a book here, doing some work. He was surprised that he had not come here before.

"Wow this place is nice," PT said.

"Oh you've never been here?" Zach said.

"My first time too!" Larry remarked.

"Well order anything you guys want. It's on me!" Zach said.

"Oh goodie!" Larry said. PT and Zach grinned at each other while Larry excitedly limped over to the glass countertop filled with desserts.

"Larry I thought you were going to get something healthy?" Zach joked.

"Well, if you're buying I need to try one of these!" he said pointing to the
scones
. "I haven't had a decent scone in years, and I would never pay for one myself. But because you, young gentleman, are treating me, I'll have to take this opportunity." he smiled his brown
teeth
and pushed up his
glasses
back onto the top of his nose bridge.

"What are you going to get?" PT asked Zach.

"Oh I don't know. Probably...." Zach pointed to the chalkboard menu behind the barista. "There! That's what I'm getting."

"What about you?"

"I might get that too. That looks good."

Larry looked back at them, still bent over staring at the scones. "Raspberry. I think I'm going to get raspberry!"

The
barista
looked at Larry and then over to PT and Zach and flashed them a smile that said "how adorable."

Everybody said their own orders even though Zach was going to pay. While ordering if looked like the barista was smiling a lot at PT. She even extended something he said and said that that was so cool and giggled a little.

PT wished he could talk to her more but Larry and Zach being around him made that unfeasible. After making their orders they made their way over to a table by a window. The three sat down and took a moment to look at the sights. Take note of all the decorations and the other people in the cafe. There was a loud table of
hipsters
on the other wall who were speaking so loudly that they could hear them from this side. There were a few college
students
looking girls who appeared to be doing homework scattered throughout. There was a grad student looking guy with long hair who was quietly tapping his pen in a slow rhythm onto his notebook while glaring out into the middle of nowhere.

PT tried to sneak a peak at what the barista was doing but he couldn't see her from that vantage point. Not while seated at least.

After the three of them got settled into the table Zach broke the ice.

"So. PT, tell us about this girl!"

"Oh you talking about that blonde gal?" Larry smirked.

Zach blew a raspberry into the air. "Not that girl! They're now broken up."

"Ah. Must've been recently then. I swear I saw her around the apartment the other day!"

"We still hang out," PT said, leaving the part about how he was dogsitting for her.

Zach continued to give PT opportunities to talk about Jasmine. And eventually the three of them were discussing PT's love life.

"Wait we're not together. It's not like that." PT said.

"Well, if a girl is coming to pick you up, and the sun's down when she does. You're dating!" Larry said with a smile.

The barista arrived and had big eyes like she had heard what they were talking about. But she made no explicit mention of the topic. Here are the two juices for you two. And a smoothie and a raspberry scone for you sir.

They all thanked her. PT tried to make eye contact with her for some significant amount of time but she was gone just like that.

"So the two of you are hanging out tonight?" Larry said before taking a huge slurp of his
smoothie
.

"Yeah what are you two doing? Your life sound so amazing. I need to be more like you. I'm a workaholic," Zach said with a smile after having taken a sip of his juice.

All of this talk about him and Jasmine was riling him up. Suddenly it felt like he was already in a relationship with her. He was viewing himself through their eyes and it looked like two people courting each other. He couldn't wait until tonight's stakeout of the house next to Johnny's.

PT explained briefly what was happening. About the mysterious boxes and the photographs in them. And the house next to Johnny Timberland's. Even Larry seemed excited by the story.

"Boy, you really are living life!" Larry said.

"Can you guys talk any louder?" shouted a voice across the cafe. It was one of the hipsters. A white guy with dreadlocks. Zach and Larry simultaneously covered their mouths and hunched over with smiles on their faces. A moment later Larry called out to them while waving his hands, "sorry!"

PT looked over to the other side and then the other people. But then he looked away just as quick. He tried to catch with his side glance whether the barista was watching. What an asshole PT thought. They had been the ones talking loud before.

"Well I got to really get back to work! Are we ready to head back?" Zach said.

Larry had finished his scone and there was nothing but crumbs left on his small plate. His smoothie was still half full but he threw it away. PT had finished his juice. Zach hadn't made a dent in his. As they exited the hipsters grimaced at them.
