I believe I've written about a mere 100 lines of code at work in the past four months.
But it's been some of the busiest months of my life. What have I been doing then, if I am a after all, at work if not writing code?
Analysis. Coordination. I've felt like solving a very complicated case. Going down countless for weeks at a time until I come out the other end with so much more clarity. But still standing in the same spot as before.
Standing in the same spot as before, but the person standing is not the same.
I remember when I first accepted this job I was already bemoaning being unable to write . But then I quite fell for . Then just as I was getting into the groove of things, the project needed me to get into .
Now 10 months ago, there's no way I would've ever thought I'd be paid to learn and analyze a c++ codebase. But here we are. Funny how that works. I always thought c++ would be a huge headache. And at times it has been a headache. But it's also probably the most fun I've been paid to have.
