Some guzzle the sludge
in order to be more "effective" at their job.
Some drink it
in order to simply stay awake.
Neither care so much for the quality
so long as it "works".
On the other side there are those who must "experience" coffee.
A simple pot of coffee in the breakroom cannot do.
They will research how the different people of the world drink their coffee
and they will try to make their own version that is superior.
They will share these drinks with others
hoping to share "enlightenment".
Sometimes they will want a pat on the back.
Hope may strike them, that they have found a new friend.
All through the sharing of their "superior" coffee.

I used to grind my coffee and squeeze my espresso myself with a ROC hand espresso machine. Doing that every day would help me keep my coffee addiction in check actually. So yeah, to me it made sense.
