Dusk

From where I am standing I see tall grass dotted with trees. The sun has set but it’s still light out. Maybe earlier you could wear sunglasses but now heat has turned into a cold breeze, and grass shakes like a sigh.

Birds crow in the distance and there’s a smell of jasmine and grass. trees in the distance bend this way and that. There silhouette dark with the sky.

There are clouds but they aren’t theirselves they have morphed and coloured, and melded together. To be one streak across across the sky.

Maybe in the distance a plane is flying. From where I am standing you can just make out the moon. And buildings beneath it. All getting ready to turn their lights on.

To be a lighthouse. Or to become the bright spots you can see from planes.

Either way it’s nice.

I'm fascinated with the idea that dawn and dusk appear to be the same. You see a picture and do you think it's dusk or dawn? Sort of a Rorschach test for your mood. That reminds me, I'm probably due for another viewing of From Dusk Till Dawn.

this idea of dawn/dusk looking alike can be a scene in our story. where something happens in either and then the character can't recall which
