Whenever she looked at the 

urine

in the toilet she thought of how wasteful the 

human body

was. All of that was dirty 

blood

. Filtered out from the carmine fluid, deemed as unfit. Her cells had to respirate, had to keep burning energy. And in that waste was produced.

Then her 

kidneys

filtered it out using osmosis. Salt and water. 

She had a friend in 

Isreal

. Where they had to rely on some process of removing salt from the water. IT was called de-daline or something like that. But apparently the process wasn't a fix-all solution to the water problem. When creating one gallon of clean water, the process also yielded one gallon of extra salty water... called 

brine

.

"What happens in the future? When the entire ocean is just brine?"

"We don't know."

Every piss she took, she prayed, to the god she didn't believe in. She prayed to someone. Asking why everything had a cost. Why did it cost 2 liters of urine a day to keep her nine pints of blood clean. And why did it take people in the dessert, one gallone of brine, for one gallon of fresh water?
