Poker face

Some years back, I had decided to work on getting better at decision making. One of the most recommended books for that subject is one titled - 'Thinking in bets' by Anne Duke, a professional poker player. I read most of the book then and remember thinking to myself that I need to reread the book a few times to get the concept well.

Fast forward a few years and I found myself looking for an escape from my daily routines. Someone suggested playing poker. Since I have an open book face, all my friends challenged me on being able to play the game. I love me a challenge so I jumped in. I hadn't realized just how much male dominated poker was. That got me even more motivated to get good at it.

It has only been a month since I took it seriously. In a typical nerd mode, I found masterclass course by Phil Ivy (one of the best poker players) and started to learn. The material and delivery was so dense that I opted to go back to basics.

Poker is indeed one of the most complicated games there is. Going back to Anne Duke's book helped me to realize how complicated poker was due to the variables involved in the decision making process.

I am pre-freshman at poker. I have a long way to go but I am seeing some improvement as I obsess with the craft daily. I hope to make some money and be better at decision making very soon.
Are you playing in person or online? Texas Hold 'Em? I was obsessed with poker when it was blowing up courtesy of amateur Chris Moneymaker winning the WSOP. One thing I learned is that people don't play right when you play for free, so better to play when there is real money at stake.

I am doing both Brandon. I was so horrible at it on both online and in person but I am improving now. Yes I play Texas Hold'Em.
