The Hangover
Red Notebook 1 - Chap. 6 - The Mentor
My
high school

psychology
class showed us
Cool Hand Luke
. At the time I was in awe. It was like I liked the film but it didn't resemble the other films I'd liked at the time.

Not a trashy comedy like
The Hangover
or a classic macho film like
Rocky
. Instead it was this artsy kind of film that cut deep into human psychology... I wouldnt've phrased it this way at the time... I just tried to get some of my other friends to watch it but I probably did a bad job selling it because I didn't have the intellectual and verbal reasoning over what made Cool Hand Luke so great.

At the time the character Luke made an impression on me. I looked up to him, identified with him. I even saw myself acting like him in parts of my life for years.

Anyways when I was 18 or so I would've thought being like Luke was good/cool. Now I think it is actually a tragic fate. Though I don't think Craig was being ominous by calling you that.
