The colors red, white, and blue stand for 
freedom
. Unless they're flashing behind you on the road. This time though he wasn't driving. Just walking. Alongside a highway. The kind that runs through the country rather than one of those multi lane, split in the middle interstates.

From the start he was aware that it would come to this. There was no escape, the moment Denver fell off that platform into the canyon. Now he would truly be owned by the man in the expensive suit.

The car behind him whined twice more. Whoop Whoop.

Blue didn't stop. He knew someone would get out of the car eventually and chase him down. He didn't even look back.

Whoop Whoop.

They went like that for another 20 minutes. Curious passerbys slowing down to see the spectacle. Blue continued his strut. Never looked back once.

Then a black 
SUV
arrived from the opposite direction. Blue stopped. The door opened. Out came a shoe that must've cost at least four thousand dollars. The shoe tapped against the asphalt as the body ontop of it approached Blue.

"It's been a long time."

Blue tried to stare into the other man's eyes. But the other man didn't have them. He stared into pitch black 
sunglasses
.

"It's time for you to return," the eyeless face said. "There's work to do."
