There was a smoking section in the ship. It was a chamber with a special air filtration unit. Keith wondered why they didn't have such air filtration in the rest of the station. He was told it wasn't needed. Apparently they had
engineers
and
scientists
who made sure everything was safe. Necessarily safe at least. Maybe not the safest things could be. The company had to make money after all.

People got their own rooms. It was decently sized. Four rooms led into a shared living lounge. This was designed to allow people to have their own time but also be able to have a space where people would be hanging out together in public.

loneliness
was what got to people the most while up here. Not that there was nobody to talk to. Just that everybody they used to know were now reachable. When people signed onto join the station almost every one of them underestimated how long the term would feel. If there wasn't such a steep financial penalty, more than 90 percent would probably return before their term ended.

Marianna wanted to return. But she knew once she was back on earth she would miss being in
space
. It was like the feeling in the morning. Awake but laying in bed. Knowing there was so much to do. Enjoying the comfort of the cocoon a moment longer. Those moments felt like freedom. She felt the space station as her own
cocoon
. There was so much to take care of down on the ground. But for another two years. She could stay up here.
