colors blue designer web applications web developer product design

He liked the color that the agency picked out initially.
blue
.

But nobody else seemed to. Shawn wasn't sure whether they really disliked the blue... or if they were pretending not to.

It wasn't "their" color people said. My God, Shawn thought to himself. Is this what he had clawed himself up the ladder for? To spend weeks fighting and pretend agreeing about colors with people?

It hadn't always been like this. He remembered back in college. A
designer
from the industry had gave a talk. The way he presented how his team went about designing
web applications
allured him. Back then Shawn decided he'd become a
web developer
. Learn enough code to get into the industry. Then once he was in he'd make his way over to
product design
.

Fast forward a decade and here he was. Meetings upon meetings. People asking him countless questions. Emails. Messages. Things he couldn't understand why people would need help answering themselves. Maybe they were too scared to make decisions themselves. This was true some of the cases, but for the most part people really didn't know what to do. That's whey they got jobs and answered to a boss. Who did Shawn answer to?

His boss hadn't been around lately. He wondered what his boss was up to. Last time he heard, he was travelling somewhere in the far east.
