Eventually Cal was able to gain enough weight to claim disability by earth standards. However HR from space didn't seem to want to grant Cal the disability. This reminded the HR guy of the episode where

purposefully gained enough weight to work from home. This was back when working from home was considered absurd.

"Please HR guy! You need to let me go back home."

"I don't know. What if we send you back home and you just lose the weight. Would you be willing to come back up?"

Cal cried. "I have a problem. I'm not doing it on purpose. You gotta let me go back to earth."

The HR guy thought with his hand on his chin. "We'll consider it." 

This was the cue to Cal to get back to work. He got up from his chair. Slow. And then wobbled out of the HR guy's office.
