Out in the sunshine, on the hot asphalt, James woohed and slapped Big Joe on the back.
"That was easy, in and out." They had already switched to normal close their ear plugs off, and guns hidden. James had a hat, Big Joe just sun glasses.
Big Joe responded in silence.
He instead asked James as calm as can be "Did you watch that game yesterday? I swear the Buckeyes were gunna lose, but then they came back right at the end."
James a bit stunned kept walking. This time he replied in silence, all the way until the car.
When both doors slammed shut
Big Joe
said "You never talk about a job outside of the job. You talk about anything but. Understood."
"Yessir." James replied.
"Don't fucking joke around here, anybody could have been in earshot. We've got 3 hours until someones likely to walk into that place we need our alibi quick."
"What were those."
"That's not for you to know yet, with a mouth like yours the whole city will know by tomorrow."
They had planned now to go to an open air market, a farmers market. They chose it because of all the witnesses that would see them together but all the CCTVs too. They started their morning there, and now they'd end it. They'd even have a few receipts. They were there the whole day. Although this was a precaution, Big Joe took this serious as well. Talking to people, laughing with James, seemed like they were just doing their weekly shop.
