Two tallboys of . That was all he needed. The rest of his buzz would come from the party. Probably mixed drinks or something. Alan hadn't told him about the party but he had found out about it. Was looking through some old friends' social media while at the airport. ran a cafe. Throwing a party.
He didn't want Alan to know that he knew though. So he was pregaming alone at his dad's house. Waiting for Alan to invite him. But he wasn't responding. He threw back the remains of the first and cracked the second open.
Two tallboys was just the right amount. He wouldn't be too drunk that he couldn't drive. Would be buzzed enough to socialize with strangers. Two tallboys was the smooth zone for him.
If only Alan would respond. What the hell was he doing. He took a sip. The carbonation stung his tongue and mouth. He looked at his phone once more. Then took a bigger swig. Made a refreshing sigh "ahhh".
It wouldn't be the end of the world to just stay at home. His dad would be back in about an hour. The two of them could drink together. Plenty of whiskey in the house. And some gin. He thought about the gin as he walked over to the liquor cabinet. He took the bottle in his hand. Rocked it around. There must be around four or five shots in this bottle he thought.
If Alan didn't invite him to the party then it wouldn't be a bad night staying here. alan wouldn't ignore him forever. They would probably get breakfast at Larry's the next day. Aaron placed the bottle back and went back over to sit down by his beer. 24 ounces of cold lager.
He took a sip. The phone vibrated. It was Jack. He hadn't gotten a text from that fucker in a while.
"Heard you're in town. Why aren't you at the cafe?"
Well, well, well. Aaron thought.
