should've never been a cop

The cop raced back to the station. End of the shift. Fuck yeah.

He couldn't wait to get home. Sleep awaited him.

Tomorrow morning he'd wake up early. Head to the cafe. Get some coffee. Pay for the refill ahead of time. And sit down with a novel.

That girl who worked there. He was pretty sure she owned the place. He liked her. But she wouldn't like him. Nobody liked cops these days. Except for crazy gun loving real mericans of course. But he wasn't really into those people. He wished he could get a nice hipster liberal girl to like him. But they only liked intellectual types. Artists and lawyers and shit like that.

He never should've been a cop. But that's all he could be given how he grew up. His only shot at going to school and getting an education was shot down when both his parents died senior year of high school. He had to start working right away after graduation to take care of his ten year old sister. Sis.

And then after she was off to college he didn't know what to do with himself. So he decided to become a cop. Moved a thousand miles away from home.

He arrived at the station. Parked the cop car and got into his civilian car. His favorite radio station was on. 2000 rock.
