Alan was in the latter. One of the only bars he’d ever seen where people still smoke. Aaron brought them three beers in ice cold glasses. Alan was particularly buzzed, and the beers flew by. None of them had had dinner and that might have been a contributing factor. Replacing calories from solid food with the liquid bread.
Aaron belched “you guys ever wonder why we left?”
“No jobs man, easy.” Jack replied.
“Look around though there’s work people at the bars banks and shit you know I always see help wanted.”
“Just better jobs I guess.” Alan replied.
“But man I’m a cook. Your a, idk what you do. And your an influencer like why do we leave? What’s the point?”
“See a new perspective?”
“Like is really opening your eyes to world? Just rich white people flaunting cash.”
“But like New York?”
“New York is just an exercise into how many people we can pack into a single area.”
“But like the food. We only got French fries. That’s the most worldly food we have.”
“Yeah sure, but like I could see that all on YouTube. Idk man I just don’t get it.”
With this Aaron swirled his beer making it foam up and they all watched the bubbles dissolve away.
