. They would use strategies like an auxillary gas tank in the trunk, drive with three people, two on lookout -- one with a binocular the other on the police radio.

This inspired Keith... not to race from New York to California. He didn't know anyone who would do such a thing with him. But to add an auxillary tank to his trunk. He liked the idea of being able to drive half way across the ocean without ever having to fill up. He would have to stop to pee of course. But he wondered whether he could get a

catheter

for that. Or pee in a bottle.

Right now he was driving east. Away from the coast. He didn't know how long he would do this. He didn't know who was tailing them. and she's get nervous eventually if he went too far east. Would think that he was kidnapping her or something.

But actually, he really did think there was a tail. And the best thing to do was drive east until he was damn sure they'd lost them.
