Today I returned to notebooking. I had told

about how much I've been missing out by not doing that mode of writing, but it wasn't until today that I got around to it. And boy did I need to notebook.

Ideas and feelings came flooding out. I'm not an emotional guy so when I say ideas came flooding out it's not like I'm crying or elated. Rather it was more about it being my self coming out. Purely me.

Since stopping my notebooking habit on Roam a few months ago, I've only done my writing on this site. And since then I've noticed that I didn't have an outlet for just my own self to breathe out in the form of language. After having consistently notebooked for enough time leading up to then I was able to continue writing everyday.

But eventually I noticed less and less of me was getting into the writing. Even if I was writing a memoir about my life where the content was me, the feeling wasn't me.

What tool am I using for notebooking now? Just a regular paper notebook. What did I notebook about today?

  1. My parents' neighborhood
  2. How Banks give out home loans
  3. How if you build your custom home and don't buy a traditional home with predictable prices then banks no longer see you as a home loan but rather a developer loan.
    1. Now your judgement comes into play. They can't just trust that the home is worth XXX. There's more variables at play
  4. How I view my parents' neighborhood
  5. What makes a good home.
  6. A lot more.

Have you heard of the concept of buying a house with a land contract as an alternative to a mortgage?

I'll look into this. You know anyone who's done land contract?

One of my actionable research items were the different type of loans banks give that people use to build homes.

I do not. All I know is it was the only piece of advice my mom gave me when I asked her about buying my first house.
