One night she was bored. Alan was watching the fight drinking beer and eating potato chips. The volume was so loud. The images and colors were so bright. She decided to go to bed early. But she couldn't sleep. She sat there scrolling her phone. And then she had to get up and pee.
In the bathroom Alan had neglected to replace the toilet paper roll again. Imogen went to get one of the rolls from the new pack she had gotten for the cafe. She had taken three of them home for herself because they were running low.
She saw the branding. Call Cal! it said. It would be crazy she thought. Plus what did she think. Who would pick up? Cal himself? Probably would be a customer support employee. Also who in the world was Cal anyways? What did it matter to her?
She flushed washed her hands and turned off the light. With it the fan turned off and the loud sounds of sports announcers aweing together filled the hall. She walked back to the bedroom and shut the sounds out. On her phone she started dialing the numbers for Cal. She had memorized it in the bathroom and had been reciting it in her head.
