Steve hadn’t been from
Westcity
but a smaller town. Just worked in Westcity, in some ways that was his big city. He remembered when he first got the job he was nervous.
The first class everyone was looking at him to give directions. The microphone wasn’t working and he had to yell. When he yelled his voice would get hoarse. Sometimes it would crack.
But the second time it was better and the third time. Then everyone liked him. Always appreciated the top forty, but even liked his more underground playlists. That was more what he lived for. Crafting unique playlists for people. He loved when he got it right.
When he saw

leave he could only think of music.
Then on the radio a song came on “The seaside rest, it’s the place that knows you best.”
