He didn't even brush his teeth before going to sleep. He would brush in the morning, or maybe even in the middle of the night if he woke up randomly. But he really wanted to avoid running into someone. He couldn't afford to put on that chipper smile of his at this given evening.
Without the humdrum of campus, and the distraction of events and upcoming midterms, he suddenly felt empty and lonely. He couldn't remember the last time he felt this way. At least for this long. Maybe in high school he would feel like this when he had nothing to do on a Friday or Saturday night, but he would quickly assuage it by texting someone. Even if he wouldn't go see them, he 'd have somebody to talk to.
This week though he felt more lonely because he wasn't texting anyone. Nobody was trying to get a hold of him. He just saw people posting about their
Thanksgiving
feasts and family get togethers on Facebook. He would look and then feel even more lonely. The only thing that made it feel a bit better was that book The Idiot, even though he hadn't read a single chapter yet.
