Eldest Tonight

as reply to not the kind of thing you do at a card table full of men

Howard had a twenty in his wallet. Didn't know why, just a habit of keeping it since living at home. His dad always told him "cash is king" or "What if your little card gets declined? I always know how much I have."

The table was a weird conglomerate of people, usually putting money down wouldn't bother him, but the dealer made it feel real, but also illegal. Like this what underground gambling was.

He eyed his chip, two small stacks of 1$ chips. Chew had nearly 500$ on his side. At least from what howard could see.

Fuck.

The dealer laid down the three cards, but then there was a knock on the door. Soft at first. Then a little louder. Then pounding.

"We gotta shut it down, the cops are here. Tell the guys." A small kid said.

The dealer quickly pulled the green part of the table forward, and folded it away. The table exposed was easily foldable, and he ripped off his bow tie, and red vest.

"We'll continue this again." He said.

Chew was up fast, but smooth, he walked to a door that seemed like no one else even noticed. While the other brothers are running around.

"We should be gucci, but maybe think about leaving soon. I gotta go talk to them. I'm the eldest tonight."
