This isn't a post about writing

When people say they don't have anything to write, they should instead say they don't want to write. Because unless you've gone brain dead or are in deep meditation your mind is flowing with thoughts and ideas. To say that there's nothing to write given that wellspring is disrespectful on two fronts. To people who are actually writing and to the excuse-maker's own thoughts and ideas.

If your thoughts and ideas aren't important enough to write down then why are you having them? Especially if they are the same ones you've been having yesterday, last week, or even GASP last year??

If you believe you don't have anything to write then try actually listening to your thoughts. If you don't like those thoughts then change them. Is writing going to help you magically change your thoughts? No. But this isn't a post about writing.

Not an easy thing to do, because you see, what one is thinking with his mind it's very much what he is. To change your thoughts might as well be equivalent to changing oneself and some people are change-averse. The thoughts that emerge, apparently in a random manner, are rooted in highly dynamic processes of the mind and body complex which aren't directly accessible to our conscious awareness. At least not in the typical day-to-day modus operandi. I believe one must search for the truth and go to the bottom of what he knows, and figure out how he got to believe what he believes. Or desire what he desires. And once he finds out, to accept the answer and be willing to reconsider the implications of that newfound truth. To change your thoughts is to change your mind, and to change your mind is to change what you talk about, the actions you engage in, your preferences the company you entertain, the places you go, everything. It works the other way around too.

I forgot to quote this in my previous comment:

Thoughts come as a stream from a very dark forrest. Within the forest is a mountain top and there is a spring. You can follow the river upstream and find it's source but you'll have to walk trougt the dark forrest, fight the beasts, climb the mountain and find the spring.

you get the point that i'm making. And yes that's what makes it incredibly difficult. It's not just a craft one must change. Not just words and sentences they must improve.

Rather there is a craft but the material is not words or art. The material is themselves. Their lives.

can't wait for you to be back with us sharing life through words consistently :)

It's funny because
