Sleep

Yesterday I had the best sleep ever.
There was nothing particularly different that I had done before going to bed that warranted the quality of sleep I got.

I already do these things as regularly as possible:

- Eat 3 hours before bed time.
- Eat low carb especially for dinner.
- Keep sugars stable before going to bed.
- Avoid drinking water a few hours before bed.
- Drink lemon balm tea
- Take magnesium complex supplement
- Sleep at least 8 hours.

Yet - my sleep wasn't where I wanted it to be. I monitor my sleep quality using Oura ring that I bought about 2 years ago. What I love about the ring is how detailed the sleep data is. I also get to see my energy score - which thanks to Scott Adams, I am monitoring almost as regularly as my sleep.

Yesterdays sleep data was:

REM sleep: 1hr 53min
Deep sleep: 3hrs 16min
Light sleep: 3hrs 19min
Total sleep: 8hrs 28min

Energy score: 94 Optimal

Oura gave me a little note:
Go get'em!
Your readiness is high. If you feel good, today could be a good day to challenge yourself.

This is the best score I ever got. And I felt it when I woke up. The energy.
I am still trying to understand what made yesterday good for my sleep. I am hoping it isn't just a random coincidence so I can repeat that experience.
It was the high off of our writing club! lol jk. Glad to hear you had such good sleep and hopefully a kickass day

Thanks Sir Abe... it could just be!
Day was a little short of kickass but good regardless. :)

Fantastic! You've always been the Queen of Deep Sleep. Interesting how you mentioned lemon balm tea. That herb came up in the alternative health series that I wrote about in today's newsletter.

I just realised we were writing together when you got the ring. Wow... it's been a while.

Glad you got a good sleep
