Wine, Art and Movies.

Past Seun always wondered why people sip wine carefully. I mean it's a drink, what's the drama about? Why not gulp it, like I do my Coca-Cola, Sprite or Fanta.

Past Seun only wanted to watch action movies. High energy and thrilling. If it's not Commando, Stallone, Jason Bourne, Jack Bauer, Jason Statham or a movie in similar lines then it's nothing. This is the reason I never saw BraveHeart to date. It's also the same reason why I never understood the hype around The Sixth Sense. My Aunt loved watching Hallmark Channel, I thought she was weird.

Past Seun couldn't locate beauty in art.

Present Seun now understands the difference between Wine and Fanta, that "...to experience the true flavour of a wine requires that you slow down and pay attention to your senses of sight, smell, touch, as well as taste."

Present Seun now finds movies with strong presentation and well-articulated themes appealing. In fact, my favourite movie at the moment isn't even an action movie.

Present Seun now pauses when he sees art and savours its brilliance or wisdom or philosophy.

Whatever it is that Present Seun has found that's responsible for these changes, I'd love to put a word to it.
Is your current favorite movie Dumb and Dumber? 🤣

Hi Sewn, it seems like your senses become attuned to subtler emotions. When you taste fine wine what peaks your interest the most? Can you guess it's age and provenance? When you look at a painting, or any other work of art can you tell what emotion stirs in you, or take a wild guess at the emotions felt the artist when making it ?
