Live. Just Live Life. Enjoy living

I see some people have an overarching goal that actually stops them from living.

Some want to emigrate to another country so bad, that's all they live for. No matter how long this goal takes they are willing to pause their life for it. Four, five, ten years of planning to travel.

I understand the situation of the country is dire but how on earth are you comfortable saying all you've been doing for the past 4 years is planning to move abroad?

The desperation.

Man, you've got to enjoy life or rather live life. Find another goal that's pretty much within your reach, aim for it. I'm not saying you should abandon your emigration dreams but please don't live everyday of your life for a future that's not given.

---

When I see folks like that I shudder. People shouldn't be doing that to themselves.
But then people do and some succeed. I admire those who go trough these struggles and succeed.

This is a really nice post. I imagined you struggling with the same things you are outlining in here.

I believe that it would be better to still struggle -- as in strive -- for a goal but still enjoy it. as in live.

I believe here Seun is talking about people who put life on hold. Like they aren't willing to be happy/enjoy-life until they reach osme horizon. In that case strive for the horizon, but be present in the steps along the way.

Yea, but you know some people who really struggle don't really have a life to enjoy, maybe there's some enjoyment to be found in struggle but appart from that I don't know.

hmmm i do understand what you're getting at.

I think enjoy may be the wrong word given that reality.

I like Seun's main word he used. To live.

Liife is not about enjoyment or pure happiness. It's more about living it. Good and Bad

Yeah Abe’s right, it’s got little to do with enjoying. Just live. Don’t pause your life because of some imaginary future

i don’t struggle with it, I’m not a fan of it all, such that sometimes it comes across as being not-ambitious. I think I’m more leaned towards Naval’s explanation “Sprint. Rest. Sprint” I don’t like long drawn goals that takes the soul out of living. Naval says “Don’t struggle, don’t settle. Life’s what happens in between”.

That's a fucking great quote.

"Don't struggle, don't settle. Life's what happens in between."

Its so hard to not postpone living to after some _____ event has occurred. Everything seems to be hindered by just one obstacle that keeps eluding us. It takes a lot to realize that we could live just as is.
